Refugee Connect
The Hazzara population in Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan have been prosecuted for centuries and seeking relocation. In transit to Australia, many Hazara travel through Indonesia as a last port before being smuggled to Australia. Since 2017, over 14,000 refugees have been stuck in Indonesia. A key challenge is their inability to work, relying on their savings and money transfers from family and friends.
The average wait time to be relocated to a host country was recently extended from 6 years to 25 years (on average).
We are establishing a vocational training centre for young adults unable to work or receive formal education. This centre will connect highly capable English speaking individuals to the international startup space, acting as a decentralized customer support network.
